How to add a new course

After you've logged into your provider account, click “Information Updates/Additions” across the top and then select "Courses" from the drop down.


Click on "Add a New Course".

Enter the name of your Course and then select the Course Type as Live or Anytime. 

You can click the gray Advanced Selection field below the Course Type to mark the course as a module, series, or concurrent sessions. These options are used rarely.  If you need help deciding whether those options describe your course, please contact the CE Broker Helpdesk.

You can also enter a Course Description, which will display to licensees in our Course Search, if you select to advertise the course.  You can add a comment to the Board if the course is required to route to the Board for approval, but this is optional. 

Once you have entered the course name and how the course is offered, click "Continue".

Next, click the Expand button to view all professions and subject areas.  Enter the number of hours the course is for in the corresponding subject area(s).  Make sure you enter the hours for all applicable Boards and professions. 

Click "Submit Now!" to complete.

If the course routes for approval and the Board requires documentation, the following pages will ask for you to attach the documents.  At the very end, you will receive a Course Tracking Number, which always starts with a 20-.

Things to remember: 


  • Depending on the Board for which you are approved, you may need to submit courses for approval before they can be offered. If your Board does not require pre-approval, then courses can be entered at any time, even after they have already occurred. 
  • Publishing your course makes it available in the CE Broker free course search. Licensees use this search to make sure that courses that they complete are approved for their profession and will be reported to CE Broker for them. 
  • Once you have entered the course in CE Broker is is always available for you to offer it again and again, and remains active as long as you remain an approved provider for the profession. If the content changes or the course is no longer being offered, you can choose to inactivate it.
